a) google a recipe that suits your kitchen equipemt (amount of dough vs. size of baking tin is important)
b) ask your mum
c) bake any cake you like and add loads+tons of cocoa powder. which turns every cake into a chocolate cake.
d) putting cream in the middle is a hard job, it needs trial & error or "skills".
but serving it with cream tastes just as good.

I've never cooked a cake before.

But I have baked one.

You probably need to go to cooks.com and search a 2 layer chocolate cake. But If you haven't baked a cake before, you might want to skip the layers and make a nice one layer. You might also want to buy a box of duncan hines or betty crocker quick cake, if you've never made one from scratch . Otherwise, you're going to bake yourself a headache.

Nigella Lawson's chocolate cloud cake

if you scroll down you'll see the recipe for the chocolate cloud cake.... it's lovely..
next time I make it i think I'm going to skip the whipped cream part and just dust it with cocoa powder, though.

and here's the recipe for a cake that a won a competition for (a very unofficial competition at a friend's party, but whatever... everyone voted for it.. )

you need

6 eggs
200 grams of sugar
125 grams of dark chocolate
3 tablespoons of butter
120 grams of wheat flour
1 tablespoon of cocoa powder
2 tea spoons baking soda

Beat the eggs with the sugar until it's thick and white. Melt the chocolate and butter. Carefully blend the chocolate mix and dry ingredients into the egg/sugar mixture.

Pour the batter in a greased pan, leave it in the oven at 175 degrees Celsius for about half an hour.

For the icing:

120 grams of butter
200 grams of dark chocolate
2 eggs
400 grams of icing sugar

Melt the butter and chocolate. Beat the eggs and slowly stir them into the chocolate along with sifted icing sugar.
