Question When vegetables and fruits don't make you "full"?

I love my "vegetables+fruits only"-day 1x a week so much.
BUT:
I can eat tons and loads and tons of potatoes, beans, salads....any fruits... just anything, after like 2 hours i feel this hole in my stomach... borborygmus.

it's totally different when i have wheat products. i feel full, fine, everything's good.

i just always wondered - is this normal? can your accomodate your body?
how do the low-carb-disciples do it?

well they're full of protein and that's how the low carb people do it except they use meat.

celery, i like it as a FOODNOTE, but not as main dish.

like i said, i tried everything that's supposed to stuff people:
potatoes, beans, bananas, all the high carb things... but my stomach seems to ignore.

i have this same problem
and to make it worse when i actually do find something that makes me feel full i seem to build up a tolerance to it in a few months and then it no longer works
some things that had made me feel full were kashi mango microwave meal and also barbaras blueberry fig bars but neither do the trick anymore
loads of pasta seems to be the only thing that fills me up

this is true. Alot of the time people are actually dehydrated rather than hungry. The body sends the sames signals to the brain for when we are thirsty and hungry.

what about more root veggies, like beets, yucca, carrots etc. ?

also how are you preparing these veggies? Food prep is very important.

Fruits and vegetables contain A LOT of water. You can get full on them, but you won't have consumed very many calories, which is why you're hungry again very soon. It is perfectly okay to eat a "meal" of veggies every couple of hours.

Try boiling some basmati or long grain rice and then stir frying in extra virgin olive oil with some kidney beans! Its quick if you buy those packs of rice you can zap in the microwave or stick straight into the fry pan! Thats fills me up when im having a hungry day! Also- peanuts aren't the most healthy thing to snack on... try almonds or brazil nuts. They are the best for you and fill you up more!

God i havent been to kitty radio in ages! almost 2 years!

get a mix of carbs, fat and protien each meal - it will sustain you for many more hours than just one of any of them. Nuts, cheese and fruit. Veggies w/ cream cheese and some grapes. You get the idea...

the point of the thread is that she loves her strictly fruits + veggies day. She wants to find a way to maintain that but feel more full. cheese is not an option!

What about vegan 'cheese'? Or some other type of fat? I guess you could get enough with a healthy serving of nuts.

If it's just fruit and veggies and that *it* with no other source of carbs/fats? Boy, don't know what to say on that one except eat often and good luck!
