vegetarian options

On Saturday I am going out for my friends birthday and she is choosing a restaurant. Im really looking forward to the meal but unfortunately I am a near vegan so it makes choices hard for me. When you go to a restaurant which is mostly serving meat options, how do you fix the problem without just ordering some side options? I find it highly amusing that in year 2007 restaurants refuse to put a bit of adventure into vegetarian cooking and at some points they just ignore the factor that some people choose not to eat meat or fish. How hard is it to put an option into the menu?

that is wierd! most restaurants do provide vegetarian options. i'm sure if you ask your server, the kitchen will make you a separate vegetarian meal that isn't on the menu. most places are happy to oblige. phone the restaurant.

Chinese restaurants seem to be more veg friendly.
