fish in your diet

is a good thing.

i decided on a light lunch today of a poached tilapia w/ nothing on it.

it sort of tasted like i just plucked the thing out of the water myself.

how much fish do you eat, how do you cook it, do you dress it up at all?

i have about a week's worth of this crap to eat, so any healthy/easy suggestions would be v/ welcomed.

I enjoy eating raw Talapia with lemon, rice vinegar and wasabi, as I have not been able to find decent Sushi since my arrival in this hellhole of a state. Finding wasabi is no picnic either, and I sometimes have to settle on wasabi peas from Wal-Mart. They are pretty good, though.

They say that the good oil in oily fish help you lose weight. (something to do with breaking down bad fats) I have to agree with them though...
I have me some mackeral/sardines/skippers every 2 days in a little cheap tin that costs nothing...

ew the fish could have been bad.

try some marination or seasoning next time. For example take a salad dressing you like and let the fish hang out in it for an hour than then cook how ever you prefer.

I eat fish usually twice a week. Tilapia, Codfish, Catfish etc. etc. I like to bake it or pan sear it (usually takes a couple minutes on each side) And make sure the pan is coated with olive oil, margerine, butter whatever.

And you can't go wrong with smoked salmon you know that stuff that's vacuum/pre-packaged. Put some slices of that over a salad. It's healthy, delicious, and easy.

i've never heard of tilapia.

i don't eat fish anymore but when i did i loved nothing more than dill, salt, pepper, lemon juice and olive oil with salmon baked or poached.

i never did get to try tuna steaks :-( ahh well i am better off not eating dead creatures.

Haddock is my favourite. I bake it with olive oil, oregano, dill and parsley. When its done, I drench it with lime juice.

Tilapia is also good, and Basa is one of my new discoveries. (Although Basa tastes better pan-fried because it's a softer fish like Orange Roughy, except a lot cheaper - unhealthy I know, but I rarely fry anything).

I might try eating more fish. Currently I only eat it battered and deep fried with chips. Mmm. And mushy peas.

I live by the ocean so we get fresh fish. Anyway the way I prepare Tilapia is rince the fish in water and put it in a plastic bag, dump some corn meal, tony's cajun seasoning and lemon pepper. Shake to coat the fish and bake for 35-45 minutes depending on the thickness of the fish.

Urgh, I hate poached fish, it's really bland.

I eat a lot of tuna with noodles, or tuna sandwhiches. But, I want to eat those oily fish, but I don't like them

Also, YES, tuna steaks are amazing.

One of the best meals I ever had was swordfish steak when I was in Greece.
It was so good. And only like 10euros

I eat salmon & prawns a lot. Probably three dinners a week & then sometimes tuna in sandwiches or other things.

I like cooking salmon on the grill lightly coasted in toasted sesame oil to stop it burning & so it cooks nicely & then I usually have that with some sort of flavoured rice or vegetables. Sometimes I do chopped tomatoes cooked with some herbs to go on top of it as well.

I'm a veggie and don't eat fish anymore, but I always loved poached salmon and smoked mackerel. I really miss eating fish, it's the only type of meat I'm ever tempted by.
