| | | chinese take away food, nutritional info is there anyway of rougly finding out the nuriton info on chinese take away
because i really have NO idea how fatty some things are
i know obviously deep friend chicken balls are pretty bad but not all the dishes are deep fried?
if there isnt any idea what ones are healtier than others. . . .
i just has chicken and bamboo shoots and it seemed pretty damn good to me...
are they all cooked with buckets of oil? i would ask at shop but there is some kind of language barrier and it might cause confusion as to what im asking about
thanks! |

| | | basically, the meat and veg dishes (like your chicken and bamboo) will be healthy, with very little fat used.
things to steer clear of are deep fried stuff; pancake rolls, sweet and sour, crispy duck, currys.
meats in oyster sauce, black bean sauce, veggie dishes are all pretty healthy (as healthy as takeaway can be!).
unless stated as being fried, meats such as chicken are poached, so no oil is used at all. and stir-frying uses the bare minimum in oil. |

| | | You can always ask them to stir fry in a chicken base rather than oil. |

| | | chinese takeaway is generally ok (if cooked properly).
like some other people have said, avoid the deep fried foods.
although it should be noted that the wok fried meals are usually incredibly healthy. cooking with a wok (properly) is a very good way of preparing food. the temperature is so high and cooking so quick that it's almost like eating the food raw.
if your chinese food is generally greasy then change restaurant - it shouldn't be. |

| | | try vietnamese, if you can. the food is similar (just a little spicier) and i swear it's far less oily. i gave up eating chinese takeaway ages ago. i just couldn't take the grease anymore. vietnamese food is delicious though. i prefer it to any other asian takeaway.

I wouldnt say any chinese takeaway meals are good for you! | MSG (FYI) is a flavour enhancer. I thought it got banned here years ago, but apparently not. |

| | | the issues with chinese food:
high oil use (though yes this is mainly in fried food)
high sugar use (though a lot less than in a dessert for example)
flavour enhancers (a lot of places will leave out MSG if you ask) |
