Question snowboarding tips+help needed.

i begin a snowboarding course on tues evening on a uk dry slope.
id like to ask people who have boarded before is it difficult and is there anyway you gan get to grips with it quicker.

the one thing i struggled with was speed. i kept slowing down because i was afraid of losing control of the board and getting hurt. speed is necessary. if you go too slow, you'll never EVER get the turns right. it just doesn't work. like riding a bike. not enough speed = no balance.

you really just have to be brave and accept that you'll be falling a lot and it's going to hurt.

i had my first lesson......
i was the only bird there out of 10.
i did fall, but it didnt hurt as i had bum+knee pads.
i managed to go down the slope facing forwards and backwards
and i also managed to sterr the board slightly.

cant wait for second lesson.
its great fun.
i loved it.

have you ever surfed? if so how do you think it compares? I'm going to take up snowboarding this yr, my friend who lives in san diego (where i learned to surf) is moving to colorado therefore i get a new hobby

snowboarding sucked
i had a teach who looked like rob zombie, except REALLY HOT
and i feel and almost broke my ankle and he like flipped his shit
so then i went back to the cabin thing and watched desperate housewives with some old ladies
