do you sample?

thecompanybitch.blogspot.com: banned from whole foods

so, do you?

i'll taste things like grapes or olives if i'm contemplating buying them (i'm not going to pay for a pound of grapes and THEN discover they taste like grass), but i don't think i'd go as far as putting stuff in a container and eating it while deciding what to have. that sort of crosses the line from sampling to just plain snacking.

(the concept of the polaroid wall is fairly disturbing, though. i'm amazed at how willingly she accepted it. isn't that, like, illegal?)

You can't just eat food out of a box in a grocery store. Then no one would have to buy food, they could just go "sample."

I know Urban Outfitters does the polaroid wall thing for anyone who shoplifts. I assume it's not illegal because they told us pretty openly in the job interview, but it could be.

it isn't so bad that she got caught.

i hate salad bars and self-serve places. actually, you don't see as many of them around these days here in aus. it's just gross. think of all the hygiene risks. not saying that the staff hygiene is any better but at least they are taught to use and wash utensils, wash their hands etc.

i've had food poison many times and it's not a pleasant thing.

so you buy a bag of grapes every now and then that are sour or tasteless...big deal!
take them back for a refund if you're really so concerned. i hate shopping with people who pick at the food on display, at least bag them and buy them first. you do have a right to refund.
