this is basically something i make when i really really cannot be bothered.

the ingredients are:

- 1 cup of sliced cabbage
- 1 small carrot, sliced
- 1 onion, sliced
- 80g. of pork, sliced (or any meat will do)

and some seasoning:

- 1 tbsp of yakisoba sauce
- 1 tbsp of barbecue sauce
- 1 packet of udon noodles (200g) or the same amount of egg noodles
- a dash of soy sauce and a bit of pepper
- some japanese mayonnaise to serve (optional)

steam the carrot for about 1 minute on high in a microwave. i find that if you dont precook the carrot, it will take forever to fry and everything else will turn to mush.

heat 1/2 a tbsp of cooking oil in a non-stick frying pan, add onion and pork.



stir fry for about 1-2 minutes



until the pork is browned all over

add the cooked carrot and the finely sliced cabbage

add the noodles, it will soften as you heat it up. stir it gently otherwise youll end up with lots of broken bits of noodles.

stir fry for a minute or so until the noodles soften. add the sauces. season to taste with soy sauce and pepper.

stir fry until everything is mixed together, the noodles softened, and the vegetables cooked. all of this should take about 5 minutes max.

serve topped with green onions and some japanese mayonnaise if you like.



all this makes about 2 plates of noodles. so if youre on your own you can have second, if youre not youll have to share. which sucks.

They look fabulous, I love udon noodles - I'd probably bung in a tonne of mushrooms though, there's something about mushrooms and noodles together.

honestly for the first time i actually want to try drugs. i mean i work at a university and dont actually know where to get pot. ffs, how sad am i. so if you have spare magic mushroom, send them my way. kthx.

oh yeah, i forgot to say that if you cant find the yakisoba sauce, just use double the barbecue sauce and add a bit more soy because the barbecue sauce is a bit sweeter than the yakisoba sauce. but theyre quite easy to find, any asian shop will most likely have it.
