| | | sandwiches that keep well this weekend me and my boyfriend are going to see muse
but the coach is 5 hours, no stopping
so we would like some tasty sandwiche recipes that keep well, as it's gonna be hot and gross on a coach, yuck.
has anyone got any good ideas?
thanks |

| | | try to use a more dry type of bread, like sprouted wheat, so sandwich dressings don't make your bread overly soggy. i'd probably stay away from things like tuna/egg/chicken salad since those can also make your bread soggy if it's been sitting for a long time. lunch meat like turkey or ham and some sprouts, red/yellow bellpepper, onions, cucumbers, and a more firm cheese like swiss or provolone would probably keep well. |

Wheat bread
mayo
avocado
sprouts
sliced almonds
pepper jack
So good |

| | | skip the mayo if you're gone for that long, you don't want any foodborne illnesses.

| | | dry the salad on a paper towel before you make the sandwich. put in a brown paper bag, not in cling film. refridgerate. avoid soggy dressings. use thick bread. NO TUNA OR EGG IT WILL STINK YOU THE FUCK OUT. |

| | | really anything will keep if you are tricky. don't put condiments (mustard, mayo, whatever) on the bread. first put down cheese, or lettuce, or something to block the bread from absorbing moisture from other items, and do that on both sides. then you can fill inbetween with whatever you want really.
hummus travels really well, but i dont know alot of men who're fans of it.
oh! genius! or you could just make a dry sandwich, and give him like a mustard and mayo packet you'd get at like a fast food resturant in the bag, and he can dress it on the way, and then it wont be soggy.

| | | i would use - butter/substitute spread. this sometimes helps to keep the filling from soggying-up the bread
ciabatta doesn't go as soggy as normal bread, right? pitta breads also in my experience keep quite well
as for the filling...parma ham isn't as moist as british/other ham, tomato goes well with that. and some black pepper for good measure |

I always wrap sammiches in wax paper. It keeps it from getting too soggy and nast.
