| | | I am always utterly STARVING when hungover, I could eat a fucking horse!
I can never be bothered to move from my bed though, so normally just end up filling myself up on Diet coke and packets of crisps!
Then wait until the bf gets home from work, and make him make me something really filling! |

| | when I first wake up with a hangover all I want is a glass of milk. Gotta be whole milk... although I usually don't get hangovers that bad, cos I try to drink some water before I go to sleep. But yeah, a big glass of milk, sometimes two. rest or nap a bit, and then after a few hours I'm feeling better, and starving. Then it's time for food - any food, as long as it's greasy. I had a huge slice of pizza last night after I'd been drinking. Why does pizza always taste so good when you're drunk? As I was eating it i was thinking "this is the best thing I have ever eaten in my entire life", and it was just your garden variety combo pizza slice

| | | well. i woke up this morning with the worst hangover of my life.
and honestly, i'm still drunk.
i think the trick to hangover food is getting something you know has some sortof resonance for you, and food you can rely on to taste good and not be fussy to too complicated.
for me. it's fucking carbs. and this morning, it's was fries and a lettuce sandwich (i'm weird, sometimes. i dont really do meat, especially from fast food. so, i asked them to put a bunch of lettuce on a warm bun with mustard) and a 50/50 lemonade and sprite drink.
and i feel better already.
i think it's also good to not drink on an empty stomach... which i always do. i feel like maybe when you eat before you booze, the alcohol has something to soak into, instead of into your gut. but this is probably not based in any sortof rational medical logic.

| | | an alcoholic drink cures a hangover . when you get a hangover , a ton of water rushes back to your head to compensate the dehydration . and if you have a small drink it actually makes your head not hurt . |

i always crave a pancake and milkshake after a hard night.

| | | i can't eat when i'm really hungover. the thought makes me realllly nauseous. a night after drinking though i'll usually go the boring route and have a coffee with toast.
one of my chemistry books said a shot of vodka is one of the best things to have when you have a hangover. because it's low in methanol? or high? i can't remember, but the book said a shot of vodka. sounds brutal in the morning though. |

Anyway, it's soup all the way for me. Settles your stomach, gets stuff in your bloodstream and it's easy to consume. Also, not a food but Gaviscon works wonders.
