| | | fasting / lucy gets her groove back? i've been feeling pretty shitty for a while, and it has affected most things in my life, including eating and drinking. i've been eating everything in sight, and started drinking again after being sober for over 8 months (haha, that was a REALLY bad idea. disaster ensued.)
i'm trying to get things back under control again, and one of the things i thought i'd try is a juice fast. now, the words "juice fast" immediately brings to mind the anakidz, so let's just get that out of the way. losing weight is not a goal. i just want to feel not so dirty and greasy again.
according to a girl in my yoga class i talked to who has been doing this a couple of times a year for a while, it is a really nice way to rid the body of all the crap (um, literally) that gathers up over time, and if you do it properly and make sure to get enough nutrients through juice/broth/vitamins, you come out feeling a lot better.
so. anyone tried it?
i'm looking at about 5 days. from now until sunday. unless i go crazy after a day and order pizza. ha.
off to buy, uh, stuff to juice. not quite sure i can be bothered to make broth. |

| | | ready go tomatoes, oranges and apples to juice. check.
carrots, onions, celery and mushrooms for vegetable stock. check. (ocd. check.)
now, how the hell do i make juice without a juicer? (not buying one.)
i'm thinking put it all in a blender, then strain. man, this is going to be a pain in the ass.
must put vegetables in oven to caramelize a little before making stock. |

| | | stock cooking. tastes awesome already. yay.
as i won't really get started until tomorrow (had to finish off some eggs and bread that wouldn't last through the fast. oh, i know. i just hate throwing out food.), and tomorrow is the start of a week long film festival around here, i'm going to make the fast a week instead of 5 days. from the festival starts until it ends. it's not as if sitting in a movie theater all day takes any energy anyway, so i think it will be good. |

| | | i love detoxing/cleansing/fasting! it's the PERFECT way for a person to start back their life!
I do Hollywood Diet Juice Fasts a lot, I do it for a few days and drink nothing but that and Evian water, It's so refreshing
I also take Flush the Fat with Internal Flush everyday.
when I fast even though I have no energy I try my best to try to get just a little bit of exercise in everyday to help boost the cleansing process
good luck!! |

| | | Why can't you just eat the fruit instead of juicing and drink lots of water to fast? Does that work? |

| | | I've tried this a ew times (back when I ate a lot) but the longest I did it was like 5 hours. lol. i's funny cos when you consciously try to not eat it's ALL YOU CAN THINK OFF.
Maybe I should try it now that I hae like no appetite...maybe I'll get my appetite back when my insides are flushed... | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
