and I don't consider people who say 'I don't like prawns' or 'blue cheese makes me sick' as fussy eaters.
fussy eaters are the kind who respond to a question like 'do you like mushrooms?' with 'well sometimes. and it has to be chestnut mushrooms. and even then I like them done a certain way. by my auntie. in butter. unsalted. with black pepper. but only Madagascan black pepper. cooked in a skillet. for 7 and a half minutes.'
so you do all that and they go 'I don't like this, I'll just have some crisps. have you got any crisps that aren't machine sliced?' |

I'd have loved to have been a fly on the wall at the meeting when eating blue cheese was considered as a viable prospect. '...well, we have cheddar, gruyere and edam, but what I'm thinking - and hear me out here guys - is that there must be a gap in the market for a foodstuff that smells and tastes like it was scraped out from under the toenail of a marathon runner with a fungal infection...'

I feel bad. It's funny though, I have a really long list of stuff I won't eat, or stuff that has to be done a certain way, but when it comes to junk food I will eat pretty much any old crap. I deserve to burn. |

| | | I hate them to. It bothers me a lot and they're really missing out. I can eat almost anything and I'm not afraid to try things. It's all thanks to my parents, they made theyre own baby food and they didn't make that silly 'kid friendly' food people think they have to make. They made food and put it on the table for us to eat. No fuss.
Kids get fussy in school cause they're mates teach them what they should dislike and then theyre parents accept it and let them decide and pow, all theyre eating is spaghetti, pankakes and hamburgers.
As a baby you don't really dislike stuff all that much, but then you learn what is 'nasty' in different ways.
My friend told about a little boy who used tp really love pea soup, but then he stardet school and there he learned it's not something to like so he stopped.
I guess picky people themself usually arent that bothered by it anyways, though |

I have become a bit of a boring cook lately. I haven't really invented a new dish in a while, except for a yummy risotto which I've already lost my notes for. |

| | i'm very fussy.
i don't see why people care what other people are going to put into their mouths really?
but i won't ask someone to make something specially for me because i don't want to eat what they're having, that's just rude.

| | | you'd hate me then. Apart from roast patatoe, I have never eaten a vedgetable. Ever. I have eaten fruit.. an apple, and an orange once. and probably bannana when I was a baby. But thats all. Im such a junk food addict that I actually had medication at one point because i was just poorly all the time. I eat things like cereal now though so I'm abit more healthier..
people get really weird when I tell them I've never eaten a vedgetable before. Ive never eaten rice or pasta or soup or a baked bean. i've never tried a pea or a sweet corn or... anything. All I eat is chips and burgers. It's only recently that I've decided to do something about it. I've been making little steps like eating a peice of apple everyday and eating cereal. And soon I am going to try some vedge or something.
I just feel guilty because there are people dying of hunger and I wont even eat a carrot because I'm fussy. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
