but it's not acceptable to talk about them in the terms that are being used about thin people at the moment. we couldn't call overweight women disgusting, unfeminine, 'not real women'.
there's a double standard and i really don't like it.
i also think that thin but healthy people are having a tough time. some newspapers have called for a boycott against size 4 clothing, which some stores were trying to introduce. some very petite people, especially some chinese and indian ladies, need that size yet they are healthy. i've even found a 6 was too big once. i'm 4'10" and small boned, i'm not underweight at all but my measurements are small
if i were to call for a boycott of size 20 clothes i'd be vilified |

| | | i have nothing against skinny people. it's just a matter of why they are so skinny and what they do to stay that way that grosses me out. then again, there are girls who are naturally very thin and can't help it. |

| | | I don't have much against skinny people, mainly jealousy. But seriously, I think people who STARVE to be skin&bone because they think that that is beautiful, are idiots. |

most shops have 8 (size 4 or 6) as the smallest size. my clothes are always too big for me, i feel ridiculous. i think at the very least they should offer small sizes for smart clothing and suits, where it really looks bad if it's too big
with casual clothes i don't mind so much. |

Something is wrong in their head. That wouldn't make anyone an idiot. |

And it doesn't help that shops are cutting their clothes more generously these days. I used to be a size 12 about 8 years ago, now i'm an 8 or 10 and in some places an 8 is still too big. My old size 12 stuff is the same size measured up as the new stuff so it's hardly suprising that shops need to introduce a size 4. |

| | | yeah i hate that too. i used to wear an 8 or 10, now i need a 6 and even that can be too big. recently my mum fitted into a pair of size 18 jeans (she was very proud of this).normally she's a size 22. she hasn't lost weight, someone's changed their sizes a lot
i really think they should start doing sizes by measurement. trousers and skirts by waist size, tops by chest size, like with men's clothing.
it would be a lot easier and a lot more honest too. it also might make some people think more about whether their figure is healthy (whether they are small or large).
and i'm sure it'd be easier for fashion designers and the stores themselves? |

i don't see how being a celeb with an eating disorder is that much different from us civilians as far as why they might have a disorder. |

| | | oh fuck that, they are completely different to ''us civilians''.
they should be forced to give their millions of dollars to starving AIDS orphans.
if they aren't going to buy food with it, somebody might as well. |
