Why sweat when you can just give up cakes? |

| | | I dont go to a sport or whatever, but I ride my bike to work and back, which is about an hour a day and everywhere else I have to go by bike too, and I have noticed inprovement. I cant pay/be arsed to go to the gym though, cause my work is very phisically demanding. |

| | I went through this phase where I wouldn't exercise because I was afraid of gaining weight in the form of muscle mass
You can lose weight dieting alone, but you'd have to be very strict with yourself and cut alot of calories. If you lose weight by exercising, you'll look much better. It boosts your metabolism, and even moderate excersise like walking regularly can accelerate your weight loss significantly. Bottom line, you'll lose weight much faster and in all the right places if you add excersise to your weight loss plan. |

| | | AND
if you exercise for a long time, you can eat ANYTHING without gaining weight.
when i exercised regularly (30+ mins every day, for 6 months), i binged a lot yet kept my weight. |

lol, when I started execising I had the same concern. Don't ever say this to a body builder, they are not to amused that people think gaining muscle mass is easy.
personally, I did eventually gain muscle and I'm so glad I did, I weigh almost the same, look better, clothes fit, waist size, everything, and and added plus is you can eat a lot more and not put any weight back on because your muscles use up a lot more calories.
cardio is over-rated for weight loss, it helps but when you compare 3 15 minute weight sessions a week versus 5-6 45 minute cardio work outs and you get pretty much the same results if you eat well, it's not hard to see which more people will stick to. |

| | | From going to the gym, I put on half a stone but lost a couple of inches. I'm not really bothered about how much I weigh, just so long as I fit in my clothes. |

| | | I hate going to the gym, I hate being hot, I hate being sweaty.
I have a gym steps away from me...and can't stand the thought of going. But once/twice I week I go in and do weights to stay toned.
When we have cool evenings, we walk the 1/2 mile to the beach and then the 1/2 miles back. I'd say about 3-4 times a week we do this.
I hardly eat. Mostly frozen coffees and diet coke. Then eat dinner.
I do have a chocolate donut staring at me right now though........ |

| | | yep.
My fault is that I never get myself to the gym because i cant afford it. I could go running but I have a phobia of dogs so I cant run in fields and I would only like to run when no ones can see me. I also dont want to go to a gym and look yuck with people staring at me because I feel yuck without that however if I actually worked ou my body would tone better.
i stopped doing situps a couple of years ago as i was told that they dont work, so I saw no point, but I regret it now. |

| | | That's how I've lost the most weight, honestly. If I'm not exercising, I can be lazy about how much I eat and just not bother eating that much, because I don't need energy for anything. But if I work out I have to make sure to eat enough all day or else I'll feel really weak during my workout. I can't create that big of a calorie deficit and have the strength left to exercise. But I don't recommend it because your energy will go way down, you'll feel like crap, and you'll still look flabby unless you wind up getting very underweight. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
