Digital Camera problem

Hopefully this can be posted here.

I was making a short movie clip on my digital camera yesterday of a mountain my boyfriend and I hiked on. I was filming the view. The damn thing froze. No surprise. So I do what I always do when it freezes, take out the batteries and begin again. Except this time the camera wouldn't take pictures or film anything because "memory full" it has internal memory. Impossible, I didn't save the clip nor were there any pictures in the camera. I waited until I got home to see if for some odd reason the short film was on there so I plugged it into the computer. Of course, the folder was empty. I bought new batteries. Same thing. Memory full yet there is nothing saved. Only had it a year tops. It's a Vivitar. 200 something dollar model. Camera is shot isn't it

Does it use a memory card? If so, try a new one.

My first digital camera was a Vivitar. It was the biggest piece of shit ever, so I wouldn't be surprised if it just broke like that. On the other hand, my analog camera is a Vivitar and it is fairly nice, so who knows.

it doesn't use a memory card. . . now I'm pissed you said vivitar is a piece of shit, I think that's what I have. Why would shit just fuck up out of nowhere? Maybe the internal computer went. I'm super mad.

If you've had it less than a year, then try contacting Vivitar. They replaced mine for me, but this was in 1999.

I have considered that. Unfortuneately, I read a consumer thing just now and oh 9/10 vivitar customers were unsatisfied for a number of reasons. I think in '99 they were being honest. It seems now, the only thing people are getting is the same shitty camera that produces the same problems. Maybe someone whos very camera savvy on here can think of something. Right now I think I may just be dealing with bad luck and a piece of trash.
