it can't be played unless you first drag and drop music from external hard drive into itunes, and then from itunes to ipod.
skipping itunes will render data unplayable, and it will appear as "other".

prolly isn't what happened to you anyway, but just in the off chance that it may be of any assistance.......

I forgot that I made this thread.

I just restored the thing to factory condition or whatever. I figured that there was nothing on it anyways so why not.
