I have stupid Windows ME...

and I just bought an ipod nano (2nd generation, 4gb). Is it going to fucking work? I'm looking over the product information (I bought it online) and I am starting to pull my hair out a little that its not going to be compatible.

Tell me good news.

It looks like the newer versions of Itunes don't work on ME.
They don't even work on Windows 2000 any more, as of a little while ago it seems.

And the older versions that do Work - I'm not sure if they work with the nano (2nd gen).

Meanwhile .. try getting an earlier version of iTunes :/

I'll have a look for one later, if you're still stuck.

Otherwise you'll have to use a third party app to upload music to the Ipod, or upgrade to winXP (SP2)

tch. *all* consumer items are designed this way.

ppls running around with harddrives act surprised when they break down, after treating them like footballs.

Just had a quick look on the net and, from what I can understand, no version of itunes (even the oldest) has ever been compatible with Win 98 or ME, only 2000/NT and onwards, so like Mike says it looks like you're either gonna have to find an alternative program or upgrade your windows (ideally to XP).

I know nothing about alternative programs, I'm afraid.
