Still potential pains in the arse with that! Do they have itunes installed already? If not, you may still be out of luck - don't know about most schools but certainly I've found that my college, and most public computers that I've encountered, don't let you have admin capabilities (so can't install programs, I think) and if they aren't already sporting itunes then you're still hitting a brick wall.

I know, I know... getting too into the details now but I reckon you might just be easiest going for some sort alternative third party software with your own pc. But idk.

Send a message via MSN to Mikerochip
Is only an option if you can create your own profile - you need to be able to install itunes on it.

at one point you could phone up and say you'd changed your pc's hardware so much that the registration database thought you were installing on a second computer, and a bored and harrased phone monkey would register xp for you. well i didn't say that, i just sounded bewildered and stupid

Hmm, I'm not sure about that, but I'm pretty sure I've seen people in the labs plugging their ipods into the computers - that's the only reason they'd be doing it, right? Or maybe not. I mean, everyone has their own "profile" that they sign in with. Like all of my documents and files are saved every time I sign in but not when someone else does.

Okay, in any case, about this "alternative third party software"... so let me get this straight. If I have something like winamp already (I do), I can somehow use that to put music on my ipod? But I can't buy music from the itunes website? Or can I?
