Wiping Harddrives completely clean...?



so i have a computer... (please bare with me im painfully slow when it comes to this kind of thing) its windows 98. so its quite old. and its full of songs/videos/pics/do***ents and files ive saved over the years. and also FULL of viruses.

can someone tell me if its possible to 'restore to factory settings' so to speak the harddrive so its without all the **** i have on it at the moment?

if you have a windows cd you run that and you should have the option to format the hard drive and reinstall windows.

Send a message via AIM to ursulafudge
You're probably going to want to hook the drive up to a non-Windows system and then format it for Windows (NTFS). If you hook it up to a Windows system, you are likely to spread the viruses to that system.
