OH WEIRD!!..my comp just recently started doing the same thing..but mine tells me its a trojan warm. so ive talked to sum peep and they say its apparently a reallllly bad one..so far to that my comp had to be restored to original settings...which my boyfriend did this morning..and a new security sys. had to be put in place. but from what i gather..once the worm is there..its there to stay. so today we are ordering parts to build a new computer..im a big fan of sum online games...so when that comp. went down..i was horrified. but the boyfriend just callled and said that the restoration went well and our comp is acting fine now. but we know there is still sumthing not quite right.
the only advice i can give is to NEVER download free spybot things or really any sort of free virus scans..as it will do the scan and tell uhow many infected files u have..then ask u to pay and sign up for the actual maintance to be performed. and once u click the NO button..all hell brakes lose on ur comp!! also beware that even if u purchase certain spy-sweepers and such..they automatically infect ur computer with spyware. i just now learned that one. but oh well. so i hope any of this helps!!
