never was are you still working and studying at the same time?

i just got notification of ANOTHER exam i have to do in may and fuuuuck i want to cry. i don't have a real weekend off til the 25th. except for on the 18th im going to the beach but im hoping that turns into a drink and drugs binge which is pretty exhausting irl.

No, I finished those exams thank god, they were boring as **** and weirdly I only realised how much I hated it once I was finished. I hated it so much I had one of those life-defining awakenings and completely changed career into something I wanted to do.

is your employer making you do this, or is it them trying to be nice?

well, i enjoy working. like, literally the act of working. i hate being idle.

HOWEVER. i don't enjoy just any work. so if i don't enjoy a job i will get frustrated and bored and lazy. so the last time i was looking for a job, i decided that it was imperative that it would not be just a way to make money. because after all, if you're like most people, the workplace is where you spend 90% of your life. so i am really lucky that i landed a job where i basically get to be a giant nerd about books and music all the time. i do 40-45 hours per week right now but i would happily do 50-60. i love it that much. i think the only other job i'd truly enjoy is animal care/management.

so yes, i think it's perfectly fine to be married to your job if you love it.

but i really don't know where you get the energy to do 80 hours per week. i tend to go straight to bed when i get home. but i guess that's because of all the travelling involved because i wasn't like that when i lived right by my work. i would find it easier to work more hours if i still lived nearby.
