Rejection

I just got rejected after having a job interview

The reason was I didn't give the impression that I knew enough about the job I was applying for. I basically failed on an example they gave to me.

This is actually the first time I have been rejected for a second job interview. I'm pretty gutted about it actually, and am feeling down as **** today about it.

Luckily I have a second interview for another position in another company, but I really wanted this one.

There is only one upside to this, and that's I told my manager I was having interviews, and he has offered me a special six month project within my current company, just the kind of thing I was looking for.

Still, it's like I have had my scrotum surgically removed.

im in a similar boat, i recently interviewed for a promotion (which it turns out i couldnt get anyway cos i failed my driving test)

but my area manager spent the entire 2 hours lecturing me on how im not experienced enough and i shouldn't think im better at my job than i am, pretty much made it clear i wouldn't be promoted anytime soon. which is ****ing bull**** because i am really really good, i always win employee of the month ffs.

Which ever way, it's someone saying you aren't good enough, or aren't a right fit. They may be right (in my case I suspect they might have been right, or I didn't answer with enough authority), they may be wrong (your case), but it's still a load of old bollocks.

I'm going to try and use it as a learning experience.
