I have only had one group interview where we had an observed group task. And I was like, well you are a bit bossy and this is about team work, so step back and suggest things gently but don't be pushy.

Feedback afterwards was- loved the personal interview, loved the written bit, didn't love the group work.

Which I read as I should have stopped giving praise to other people's crappy ideas.

I don't think anything can be worse than the recruitment process for graduate schemes,

Once you've filled in the 3 hour application, including 300 words a piece on why this company etc, you get a numerical test, a verbal reasoning test, a personality test and sometimes a logic test. If you are extra lucky you'll get a situational test.

Pass all of that and they still won't deem it fit to see you, you get a telephone interview on your ****ing core competencies.

Pass that and its an assessment centre. Will always have a group discussion, will usually be two people who will degenerate it into point scoring and one poor sod who won't say anything. A presentation, couple of interviews, a whole array of tests like ABLE and e-trays and if you come out top you get to the final interview round...

All round a massive pain in the arse

It was them being nice to you instead of saying you were a ****ty interview.

I conduct group interviews all the time. I pick the m people with the most interesting and thorough answers for 2nd interviews.
