I do appreciate others concern for me. But it;s kind of like when you're going through heartbreak. It's all fun times and giggles with your friends, until you have to go to bed by yourself and wake up in the morning with the realization that this huge thing is looming over you.
i dont know if you were talking to me but
i am applying for my MA in Museum Studies
I will have my BA in History in the spring

and there is only one school in the area with that program and i can't (In my current situation) travel or go to school anywhere else

so it's make it or break it

My boyfriend wants to study microbiology/virology. He really wants to go to UPenn and thinks that anything less is total failure. There is seriously no talking him out of his freak outs.

When you’re that unhappy, any glimmer of beauty or consolation feels like running into an old friend abroad, or seeing mountaintops through smog. Maybe we mistakenly think we want “happiness,” which we tend to picture in very vague, soft-focus terms, when what we really crave is the harder-edged intensity of experience.

oh christ.
i'm also applying to penn.
law school.
i'm going to die if it's a kr clusterfuck at the grad school orientation. and then laugh my ass off.

but i think this thread is really useful.
grad school apps = endless stress/money questions/wtf am i doing with my life/why is this so competitive, etc.

hmmm. i'm also applying to 2-3 archival studies/archival preservation/museum studies programs.
as well as a dozen law schools
and two programs to get a MA in education administration (principal school).

or atleast i know i SHOULD do all that this year.
but i'm still burntout from undergrad. even though that ended like a year ago.

undergrad was over two years ago for me. by fall 2010 it'll be over three! this is definitely the time since i feel stifled at work and while i do want to continue in the arts, i definitely don't want to continue there or in a similar settings. my field has to change.

kr philadelphia meet-up?!

orchestral, that is a shit ton of applications and $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. i am applying to 8 schools. they are (moment of vulnerability!):

Harvard
Cornell
UPenn
NYU Insititute of Fine Arts
Boston University
UM-Minneapolis
UCLA
UC Santa Barbara
