I need to have a web portfolio to show potential employers and clients. This might seem like a dumb question but how do I start? Who should I ask? I guess I just need some basic advice or tips since I have never done something like this before..

Me too but I am not sure if they meant designs or something else. Better off using a site that is already templated like deviantart or something perhaps? Or paying someone to do it for you if you have no idea.
