I spent my entire lunch break at work trying to get some information from the University of Gothenburg. And I did the same yesterday. They're ****ing HOPELESS. All I want to do is talk to someone about the undergraduate linguistics programme that's taught in English. Not too difficult right? Wrong! In the past two days I've spoken to no less than seven different people, and out of those seven only two spoke good (and that's me being generous) English.. I didn't get much further when I switched to Swedish either. Are they braindead? Who the **** employs these people? I went on their website just now and have found the direct numbers for the Admissions office and Degrees office so I'll try them on monday (you can only phone up mon-thurs according to the website.. again, what?!). Wish me luck?
It was exactly the same when I phoned UCL and Manchester last year when I was thinking of reading there.. nobody seemed to have a clue what was going on, nobody was helpful and it took an eternity to get the information I needed. Is it a big university thing? Cus when I've phoned York and Bangor they've been awesome? Skärp dig göteborgs universitet!! Honestly..
