I'm trying to get a part time job, just a part time fucking job, but no bastard employer in my area will employ me. I'm getting extremely pissed off!

I really, really want this job at Goldsmiths. Because its only a sunday and the pay is wicked. So I handed in my CV on friday and now im not sure what to do. The closing date is the 19th August, but im thinking, shall I wait and see if they contact me or just give them a call? What should I say if I call them. I really dont have a clue!
So what would you do?

Personally, I would fake a mental illness. Say you are suicidal from being unemployed for instance. Then sit and grin as the money rolls right in...

or better yet, go in and say you turned in an application and wondered if you could speak to the hiring manager.
managers like this kind of initiative because it makes you look more serious about getting the job.
i never have problems getting jobs because
a. anytime i go to fill out an application i dress INTERVIEW READY.
b. i dont ever turn my applications in to an employeee, i always ask if i can speak with the hiring manager and turn it in directly to them.
and
c. i ALWAYS ALWAYS follow up if i havent heard from them in atleast 3 days.

well while they may work some places, where i work the hiring managers HATE to be bother out of schedule.
they WILL NOT see anyone without an appointment and they WILL NOT leave their offices just to grab an application.
but the place i work sucks
