| Im in my final year in the west midlands.
Im currently on my critical care placement in a busy a&E department, just finshed my 4 nights.
To be honest, it is stressful and they put alot on you, with your full time working week, plus assignments, clinical placement documents, revision and reading, not to mention the shitty attitudes of some of the staff sometimes.
However, i LOVE my placements, you always learn loads and you feel like you are part fo the team, i hate uni lectures, find it better learning in practice.
make sure you also check out the uni's before hand, mine don't give you enough support in my opinion, and do not prepare you sometimes for what you come across in the real world.
The bursary isnt great, however, if you join an agency and let them know you are a student nurse, you will have no problem, they pay really well too and when you qualify and may not have a job lined up, you can always work through agency, when you want and however often you want.
Hope this helps
