work place contundrum

i've been working on this project at work that was abandoned by a few people and i've put together a proposal and my boss who is the director of marketing loved it. she's now asked me to present it to our operations director, division manager and a few other key people next week.

in the meantime, we are rolling out the pilot (before we have any internal processes rolled out) and i've been asked to work with a certain marketing manger who is a total tool. within five minutes of us working together he already went to someone with all my ideas to roll out the graphics portion. luckily he's loud and i heard it all and got the specs and full details to the head of the design team before he did abd i made sure to cc my boss and him to make sure they knoiw where its coming from.

i hate to go over him but he has zero ideas of his own, he does this all the time and i've worked far to hard on this project ot let him try to take any credit.

do i continue to stump in at every level and let him continue to look like a moron, which most people already think or do i get him on board and work with him on this?

it could be a huge oppourtunity for me if this all works out and i want it as leverage to further myslef here and i know there are oppourtunities.

I would tell your boss that he's fucking up the project. The end.

Why does everyone have such a problem with telling their boss that someone sucks at their job? Man, I dobbed my own gf in for slamming customers with unwanted stuff because she wouldn't listen to me.

Or you could just tell him he's fucking it up and try to resolve it but I personally wouldn't bother.

agreed. tell your boss. i have no problem throwing people under the bus to upper management if i don't like them and they suck. this of course only works when they really do suck (like your colleague seems) and when management already has an inkling of said suckage. and if you've been at your job a long time and have a proven track record, they are not going to think you're being whiny if you say something.
