I hope I spelt that right... wot qualifications /courses or do you need any to become a croupier - particularly in the UK, but also on board cruiseships - any advice welcome?

thanks - I know poker/pontoon/roulette all pretty good...but no idea if I need to have a qualification and where to get one from?

My uncle didn’t need any qualifications to become a croupier. I think you just need to know how to play the games and the casino trains you. You do need to pass some sort of test before you can start dealing and you also need to apply for a gaming licence.

In the UK I think there is a 6/8 week unpaid training period, which is rather uncool. I considered becoming one on my gap year. My mother was dead against it, she claimed croupiers overheard dodgy deals all the time thus kept ending up murdered in canals. She has an overactive imagination....
