Public transportation?
Housing costs?

Cold doesn't scare me. Blondes scare me more.

yes, they have public transport. not very good though. lots of busses and a light rail system. i don't think the light rail covers much of the city.
housing is cheap compared w/ other cities. one bedrooms rent for about 600-750. houses start at around 250,000.
definately a young people city. i think it was recently voted most literate city in america in some poll or something.
it is cold as fuck. but only during the winter. summers are very nice. the climate is comparable to nyc, actually. four very distinct seasons.
great live music and tons of museums. lots of theater too. |

Cold doesn't scare me. Blondes scare me more. | i don't know anything about minneapolis but i can say from having vacationed in sweden that most of the people were not blonde. tall, yes, but not as many blondes as i'd have thought. |

be careful | That's a fucking lame statistic. Where did you get it from?
What sort of rapes, anyway? All "rapes"? Rapes based on convictions? Reported or alleged rapes? Is your second sentence supposed to follow on from the first as it appears?

great live music and tons of museums. lots of theater too. | This is music to my ears. Yeah, extreme weather conditions don't shake me as much as they do others. In fact, I really dislike people who complain about how cold it is constantly. YES IT'S THE MIDDLE OF FEBRUARY IN NEW YORK.
The lack of good public transport troubles me a little since I don't drive. However, I would move there for a job and I guess I could make sure to live really close by. This is all hypothetical, but I'd like to know it's a city I wouldn't mine moving to.

| | | I believe the public transport is excellent. If you're looking for buses, I think it's great. The lightrail hits the big spots like the Metrodome and the Mall of America. By 2010, there is going to be a lightrail going from Minneapolis to Big Lake(40 minutes west of the cities) that will be making various stops in between for all the suburbanites. I've lived fairly close to Minneapolis my whole life and I'm moving there in May. I think it's a great city. I hope everything works out for you! |

| | | Thanks for posting that picture, cricket. I was feeling all doomy and gloomy about the possibility of moving from here to the Minneapolis because everyone here was poopooing the city (I think it's because it sounds so similar to where we are now). But now I see a park, a sculpture, and a very nice building.
I have liked that piece of aht for a while now, but I didn't realize what city it was in.
The information about rent and public transport makes me feel a bit happier, too.

| | Okay so I just found out it is Oldenberg and I was just talking about how messing with scale is like one of the funniest things ever...why is it funny? is it undermining function of objects? augmenting the small details? what is it?!
