Well, anyway, all the piercing advice seems to say that you're not meant to take it out until the infection is cleared up, I guess it's something to do with the infectiony stuff having a means of escape, if that makes sense.

But I had a nipple piercing for three years that ended up infected and I just took it out and left it, and it seems ok now. But I wasn't getting pain in my whole boob, so that's a bit concerning.

You did the right thing by going to the doc for antibiotics in any case. Finish the course you have - as they say, you're meant to do the whole course for shit to properly work. And then hit your doc if problem still persists.
