SERIOUSLY??

The mind boggles. I understand that given time standards of beauty evolve and morph, but I really don't get "ampu-chic" (I definitely should secure the sole rights of that word, should this phenomena take off). I don't get the appeal of looking maimed/injured. I have heard of it on a fetish level, what with it being described in "Crash" and I know there was a Japanese site* called "The House Of Broken Dolls" which was devoted to women in casts and traction. To aspire towards it in a hipster-stylee, it's bordering on
I also remember a couple of years ago reading about this guy who went round to loads of surgeons in America, who refused his request that they amputate his leg. There was nothing wrong with the leg, he just wanted to be an amputee. He eventually found a surgeon who did the op in Mexico but the guy died from complications and the surgeon simply discarded the body so as not to leave any trail. Needless to say, the trail led right back to him when the guy's partner spilled the beans.

I think the domain name changed or the site as I remember it is now defunct. How annoying.
