i'm planning my next one

and i'm looking for images that i can take to my tattoo artist so that he knows what i want.
obviously i don't want a tattoo that someone else has, but i do need some imagery, you know?

i sort of want the homeward bound ship but sort of with more colour and flowers and a mermaid. so i'm looking for more traditional tattoo art.

all the websites i find are shitty.

God, I was googling images to try to find some and the amount of shitty tattoos that popped up!

I get really annoyed by how some artists draw mermaids. I'm really defensive about mermaids for some weird reason. I guess cause ever since I was little I envisioned them as being Japanese but everyone always draws them lookin like barbie dolls...

And I don't know what you're looking for as far as flowers go. The pictures I'm going to post below is work by Julie Becker. If you want something specific, you should google the specific flower type along with "tattoo" and something good will probably pop up.

conterfeitvoid, those photos you posted are absolutely gorgeous. i never know how to describe it, but they're what i think of when i imagine beautiful tattoos. i love the flowers and the colours and the way they snake round shoulders and arms like real vines.

however, i want a wordy tattoo ("meat is murder"!). maybe with some flower embellishment or something, but i'm all about the words. so now i am hunting for beautiful, curly fonts. i'm so excited. but yes, the amount of totally MUNTERED tattoos you find when you google can be a bit disheartening! like, what posesses people?!
