| | | Swelling months and years later? I had a bad allergic reaction to the latex glove when I got a tattoo well over a year ago. Sometimes the tattoo swells up again and I can see the shape of his hand print in redness. Anyone else ever get shit like this? It has happened right now and my entire arm is burning and swollen.
Will antihistamines get rid of it?
Oh yeah and my other tattoos, randomly swell up too. They become all raised. Does that happen to everyone? Is it normal?

| | | it's been awhile since i noticed, but my tattoos used to get that textured thing.
it's wild that you still get that reaction from the latex after a year.
i'm sure benadryl/antihistamines would help.
(certain foods can trigger latex like reactions.
have you been exposed to any latex?)

| | | It's not uncommon for tattoos to get a little raised and itchy after they are healed, even months or years after. It happened to one of mine once but it wasn't a big deal and it went away.
That latex handprint thing is kind of wierd.... go to a doctor or dermatologist if it's really bothering you. |

| | | I think the latex burnt the skin so it might be like slight scar tissue that shows up every now and then. It's creepy!

| | | One of my tattoos on my leg, that I've had for over 6 years now still gets all swollen now and again. Not the skin around it, literally just the tattoo. It also itches like CRAZY every couple of months, esp at night.
I've recently had a tattoo on my outta forearm which has quite alot of blue in. I had some sort of allergic reaction to the ink I think, as it stung for about 3 weeks without healing, just weeped and weeped. It was horrible. Its all healed now, but like the one on my leg it still swells now & again and becomes itchy.
All my others are fine.
I think it just comes down to colours and how sensitive the area is that you're getting the tattoo. |

| | | Hmm maybe I am also allergic to the ink. I'm allergic to every other thing so why not add that to the list. I'm going to some specialist soon to work out everything I am allergic to.

I believe it's just sensitive skin and it's reaction to being damaged and sensitive. |
