my friend is a perfect example of this.
he says it's 'cool' to get piercings all over your face because it makes you 'stand out', 'look tough' and be individual. he actually said that.
well i see so many kids at my college with studs all over their head that someone without piercings would appeal to me more, now. and believe me, they'd look far more individual.
so i say, don't get a piercings.
