on a drunken whim i went with my friends to get my lip re-pierced. now i am kind of rethinking it (after its too late) because i mean im 22. arent i getting a little old for this flashy facewear?

im 29 and gave lots of piercings, as long as they dont look sill then i guess there isnt an age limit. i dont look my age though, so im told, but i guess that doesnt matter either. its about individuality, its whatever your comfortable with.

You have to be 18 to get them. That is only a 4 year buffer before being too old? I would think you can get them till you DIE.

From the age of 16, I had my nose, lip and all up both ears pierced. I'm now 22 and abouuuut...six months ago now I completely spontaneously decided I was too old for them and whipped 'em all out (apart from two in each earlobe). (I suprised myself: I'm never spontanous. I wish I was, it's such a romantic quality.) I've never been tempted to put any of them back in, I think I made the right choice and I feel I'm too old for them.

And I'm really different to how I was at 16. I look back and it's a bit weird: nowadays I'm much shyer, prefer to blend in far more, am into different things, have a different attitude and have a different style. My style icon these days is Sandie Shaw, where it used to be the members of Kittie!

But having said this, my best friend/soul sister/non-sexual life partner/girl who's always being mistaken for my twin sister still has her lip/nose/earrings in and I don't think she looks silly. And she doesn't think she's 'too old' for them. And as long as she doesn't/you don't feel too old, they should stay!

this is really reassuring. im glad im not the only 22 year old who feels too ancient for piercings lol.

Its the same with guys and long hair, like job interviews and stuff......it really sucks but its true, especially in the south where anything arty isnt respected. On a personal level, no one should feel too old....it all depends on your attitude, how you carry yourself and self expression.

10 years old is my cut off. anything older, and it's totally uncool.

i think if you feel too old you probably are.

yeah i don't know really. i once saw an old woman with her lip peirced, i mean about 70 and it was so bizzare and it looked rediculous, but i dont think it will be unusual to see by the time we're all that age as everyone has them and tattoo's now! saying that, i'm already getting sick of mine and i've only had them since i was 15 and im 19 now. so we'll see.

that's a good question. i don't know i guess it depends on the person.

i'm 23. i've had my lip since 17. and last year i redid my eyebrow. (after not having it for a year and a half, had that since 16) and i have do desire to take them out. and i just got over having pink hair for the past 3 months.

if u want to keep it, keep it. if not, take it out.

I think it depends how you wear them.
I mean I am 25 and have a side lip piecing and a nose stud.
Both were until 2 days ago simple metal small rings.
2 days ago I changed them both to small simple diamond studs.
As long as your not old[er] and still trying to pull of spike studs and 3 lip rings its all good.
Saying that though, spike studs should really be outlawed, they are just awful.

Just try and keep it simple and classy.
