| | | Nipple Piercings! Okay, here are some questions about nipple piercings. If you have/had them, please give me your input!
Has it made your nipples more sensitive?
Are your nipples constantly hard?
Can you get a nipple piercing without the ball part?
Is a bar or a hoop more noticeable through clothing (or is there a difference)?
Has it left scarring?
If you've taken it out, has it closed up?
Thanks! |

| | I have both nipples pierced and have for some time. I will try to answer what I can...
My nipples maintained the same sensitivity. For some of my friends, it increased. I think it's an individual thing. And yes, they are always perky but not rock hard.
My husband had his done as well. He removed his after it didn't heal well and it did scar. As with any body mod, there is a possibility for scarring. If you decide to take it out permanently, I would suggest using ointment like neosporin to promote healing. I removed one of mine a few years ago and it healed well without scarring. I then had it repierced with no problems.
I know piercers have to use a certain gauge bar, but you may be able to get a ring instead. Yes, the balls do show through sheer clothing. I prefer the look of rings versus barbells, so I would cover the nips with bandaids at work if I wore something where it showed.
Hope this helps.. and no, it didn't hurt |

| | | My Right Breast, the Piercing 1) Nipple was smidgen more sensitive; pulling on ring was nice.
2) Nipple was not constantly hard.
3) I'm not sure what you mean - I got a hoop with a ball. And it's a bitch to get in and out and took forever to heal.
4) Wear bras with a little bit of padding (like at work or whatever) if you don't want it to show... Because they show.
5) Itty bitty nothing scar
6) Took it out a month ago (after... shit, 7 years) and isn't closed up, however I took it out b/c my breast really started to hurt and feel sore and tender, and the nipple felt infected but didn't look it. Removed ring and got better; haven't put ring in yet but stuck an old tongue barbell thru and everything is still kosher.
Good luck! |

Not noticeably so. Are your nipples constantly hard?
Nope. They go soft and hard as they would normally. Can you get a nipple piercing without the ball part?
I presume you mean a ring without a ball? I suppose, in theory, you could but there's maybe potential for it to slip around? I don't know b/c I don't wear rings in mine. Is a bar or a hoop more noticeable through clothing (or is there a difference)?
I have no idea. I'm fairly small chested so I've always worn padded bras anyway. I suppose either would show if your clothing/bra was thin enough. Has it left scarring?
I still have mine so I don't know. One of mine, two years after the fact, has developed a small bump next to the hole on one side and has also started giving me bother with pus/crusties and some (rare) random bleeding, so there's a good chance it's infected, but I refuse to take out the piercing until I know it has cleared up. It's a fucking pain in the arse. My other nipple is great; I get the occasional crusties if I'm not able to shower for a few days but generally it is fine. None of that has to do with scarring, but hey. If you've taken it out, has it closed up?
N/A, but I imagine it would sometime down the line? Would probably take a while, depending on how long you have it maybe?

| | | Has it made your nipples more sensitive? nope, they're the same.
Are your nipples constantly hard? like one of the other posters said- they're perky but not rock hard.
Can you get a nipple piercing without the ball part? not sure what you mean...
Is a bar or a hoop more noticeable through clothing (or is there a difference)? i have barbells in each nipple and they aren't noticeable unless i'm wearing something skin tight and thin materialed (think a fitted tank top).
Has it left scarring? none at all, and i've had them for three years.
If you've taken it out, has it closed up? i still have them. |

I definitely wasn't clear about "the ball part"--what I meant is the little decorative ball that comes with hoop piercings, which you can screw/unscrew, or pop in/out, when you want to remove the piercing. I was just asking about that because I figure if I didn't keep the ball part in my piercing, maybe it'd be less noticeable through clothes. but like someone mentioned, the hoop might move around or slip out if i got rid of the ball. i guess i was hoping that it's possible to find a hoop piercing that doesn't come with the little ball, that stays closed some other way.
anyways, i'd really like to get my nipples pierced BUT i've always worn completely unlined, unpadded bras--that's the only type of bra I like, and I don't want to change that. and i'm not the sort of person who wants to show off my nipple piercings through clothes. so, if there's no way to keep the piercings at least somewhat hidden under clothing besides using padding or wearing layered shirts, i'm not sure i'd want to do it! :/ |

| | | Has it made your nipples more sensitive?
made them alot less sensitive, actually
Are your nipples constantly hard?
nope
Can you get a nipple piercing without the ball part?
no clue, ask your piercer? i just had bars
Is a bar or a hoop more noticeable through clothing (or is there a difference)?
from my experience a hoop, but to be honest it shows if you dont wear a bra. i dont really need bras, and felt pretty self conscious wearing an unpadded one, so it might not be for you!
Has it left scarring?
yes, but very slight and only noticable if pointed out
If you've taken it out, has it closed up?
yes, perfectly and really quickly |

No, my nipples never were that sensitive though.
Are your nipples constantly hard?
Only when cold/aroused.
Can you get a nipple piercing without the ball part?
A horseshoe? Probably.
Is a bar or a hoop more noticeable through clothing (or is there a difference)?
My bars are visible when I'm wearing thin shirts with no bra, but that's because my nipples would be anyway. I can't really get away with going bra-less, so it's not really a problem for me.

| | | I had both of mine pierced about 9 years ago and took them about about 2 1/2 years ago.
Has it made your nipples more sensitive? At the time they were too sensitive that I didn't enjoy them being played with as they were too sensitive and became painful.
Are your nipples constantly hard? They weren't
Can you get a nipple piercing without the ball part? Had both rings and bars in mine.
Is a bar or a hoop more noticeable through clothing (or is there a difference)? Because I have big boobs and don't wear padded bra's they could be noticed easily if I had a thin top on, or if I was cold!
Has it left scarring? A slight lump where the holes were.
If you've taken it out, has it closed up? Yes |

It hasnt made it more sensitive really but I dont like people playing with it anymore as it can feel quite nippy.
My nipples arent constantly hard, just slightly perky.
I have a bar, but i only wear padded bras so you cant see.
I tore mine so there is a little scar. |

Has it left scarring? no not really
If you've taken it out, has it closed up? i havent had them in for about a year, but theyre still open | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
