| | | do you go to the same tattoo parlour every time? do you go to the same place every time you get a new tattoo? how many times have you been there? is it stalker-ish if i go to the same place for 3 different tattoos in a short space of time? i don't understand the tattoo world. please excuse my ignorance.

| | | I don't stick to one studio, because I have lots of varied tattoos and ideas, but if you're going to go for a large project or have all your tattoos in a similar style, the same artist is always a good idea and can help you plan out your work.

| | | i've been to 3 different ones. although the 3rd was supposed to fix something for me, but they kept delaying me so i got pissed off and never went back. so really, i went to 2 places and i have 5 tattoos.
i don't think it's stalkerish? i'm sure they'd just be happy that you were pleased enough with their work to keep returning to them.

| | | yes. i only have two but i won't let anyone else tattoo me.
i consider it stalkerish. i consider it loyality. plus, they'll usually give you a discount if you're a returning client.

| | | my roommate and I both go to the same artist. Since we tend to accompany eachother when either of us get anything done, we've kind of become pretty good friends with our tattoo guy. So yes, we always go to him because he knows us, we know he'll do a good job, and we like giving him our money!
If I was getting something done that I had seen done better by another artist, I would probably consider going to the other artist, but as long as my tattoos are all in the same style, he's the guy. |

| | | Business is business. They won't complain if they're getting your money.
If you want your tattoos to be all the same style, then go back to the same place. Some people like variety.

| | | Once I found an artist that I liked I stuck with him. He did really good work and he was a super nice guy as well... I've come across quite a few tattoo artists that were dicks, and that's a turnoff. I just recently moved to another state though, so now I"m going to have to find someone different, which sucks. I'm sure once I find someone I like out here I'll just keep going to them though. I think it's good to build some kind of relationship with your artist.

| | | If you have a tattoo shop that you like and always want to go back to, then that's great. You should go back to it as much as you want. It's not "stalkerish", lol. |

| | thanks for your replies, everyone.
i was going to see one tattooist, but he wouldn't do it 'cause i was drunk. (i thought he wouldn't care, seeing as he was stoned on the day i made my appointment.)
i went elsewhere, and am happy with the result. will stick with the one who i'm happy with. i'm glad the stoned dude didn't do it.
