I suspect it's more complex than confidence. I believe the term brainwashing could be thrown in there somewhere. There's something to all the body-image issues i.e. anorexia, bulimia, BDD, plastic-surgery addiction that this, and other countries, suffer. (Personally, I get ****ed off that I "have" to wear makeup all the time to achieve some illusory porcelian finish. Men get to walk around with uneven skin tones, under eye circles, why can't I?) The airbrushed photoshopped look is not reality & it ****es me off there are those that expect women to look that way.

To answer the OP's question. None of that stuff works. Gaining weight is your best non-surgical method. Try googling reviews of those type pills and you'll see they're all a scam.

I suppose. It just surprises me that people know about this, and have done for a generation or two now, but still go along with it. Surely when you know that Flaps magazine is going to try and brainwash you, destroy your self-esteem, and then try and sell you **** that you also know won't fix it, you can read it with a pinch of cynicism. Or just not read it at all.

To guys, looking from the outside in, it smacks of "guilty pleasure", to be honest. I want to believe that it's something more sophisticated, because I don't want to think that women are just deep down quite into the idea of torturing themselves for no reason. But either way I'm sick of men being blamed for it, because we really don't notice.

I don't blame men, I think they fall for it as much as women. I blame the advertising agencies, fashion industry etc. I do think there is that old double standard - i know lots of men who let themselves go but expect women to be tiptop. I could expound some more but I'm in the middle of fixing a picnic for me and my man to have a special day. This also involves having wow hair & intriguing eye make up
