the years i spent taking the pill were the same years i spent being severely depressed, it might be a coincidence, but one doctor finally suggested to get me off the pill and i felt much better. now i wanna go back on it but im afraid.

I've used different kinds of hormonal contraception, including various pills, and have come to the conclusion: hell no.

yes thats what im afraid, that some of us who are inclined to get depressed and all just cant deal with any of them.

Yeah. From experience... the pill always adds to my depression. I was actually generally doing fine depression wise until I went back on the pill. But I need it. Blah.

I never really thought there was that much of a link between the pill and mood until I went after 6 years of being on another pill onto this pill Microgynon. I then got incredibly depressed, had mood swings about every 5 minutes and actually cried I was so relieved when my doctor swapped me back. And I am not a big crier. Its sort of a once in 3 yearly event. But apart from that I have been on marvelon, dianette, yasmin and triadene all fine. Another friend was suicidally depressed on Femodette then swapped to Microgynon and was happy as can be, so it really depends on you AND the pill.
