my best friend has IC. she's had it for about seven years now... longer without a diagnosis. in fact she wasnt diagnosed for a couple years after symptoms appeared.

she is on multiple pain medications and has little relief. she cant work, studied to be a librarian and now has debt she cant pay off. she spends most of the day in bed or zonked out on pain pills. she's got a pretty bad case of it. she told me the only time shes felt relief, true relief was when she was in labor and had an epidural. i feel really bad for her.

I don't wanna be a veggie

I'm hoping I'll be okay because they caught it early. I was only having symptoms for two months before I was diagnosed, so my urologist says the prognosis is good.

My mom offered no support until I complained about how her horror stories about how the nerves in her bladder are dead and she has to get a bladder pace maker just weren't doing the trick.

Imagine? Like. Not being able to feel when you gotta pee?

Your mom suffers from IC and her nerves are dead in her bladder?
