so my tard bf, lives on a diet of cheese, meat, tums, and cereal. because he thinks he has heartburn, which i'm sure he does, but i also think he loves tums.
ANYWAY. turns out that he's been taking about 10-12 tums a day, at 800-1000 mgs of calcium per tums -- so that's like 10,000+ milligrams of calcium per day, which is WAY OVER what any human should take.
he's been doing this pretty much everyday, with a week or two off here and there.
a couple months down the road, and now he's totally fucked up. it looks like he has arthritis, and it hurts to walk, muscle weakness, lethargy, confusion, trouble going up stairs, etc. and he's fucking 28.
so. i think he has hypercalcemia or osteomalacia. from way too much fucking calcium, and all his joints and muscles are over-calcified and hardened up.
is that even possible?
really what i want to know is what happens if you take like 10-12 of those extra large tums a day, for months... what's the consequence?
i tried googling it. but apparently its all information about seniors and post menopausal women having calcium problems.
really i just need the
kr nurses
or someone who knows all about overdosing on anything in your medicine cabinet, which is alot of
kr.
