sadly no.
lots of people get fucked.
i can't believe you guys are going to the social security place in person. i mean, even in reno, that's death. let alone in the big city.
the people who are in the social security office are not gonna be the ones who make any decisions on him. they are just randoms. office workers.
you fill out your application and you submit lots of medical records and then it gets sent away to some mysterious board of physicians in some mystery land, and they are the ones who make the ultimate decision. based just on the way you word your application and the medical records.
which is kind of why lots of people get fucked over, and kind of why i said you would want lots and lots of documentation. nothing gets judged just by someone looking at his condition and seeing in person that he is obvs a gimp.
so it's sort of unfair in that way, but you may get lucky.
even if you have a regular doctor who you always see, they just ask their opinion but still ultimately make up their own minds based on their various factors/regulations.
even going to the ER non-stop and getting work done is really good tho. as far as them seeing you are all fucked up.
also from what i hear MediCal is shithouse. in nevada, we get medicaid, and tbh it's a lot nicer.
like i said to you in some other thread, they got no isssue w/ giving me whatever fucking drugs the doctor says i need, and also i can get into some pretty fucking nice doctors offices and stuff.
THEN. after a certian amount of years of the govt considering you to be disabled, you automatically get signed up for medicare. like a fkn old person. and that starts working in conjunction w/ whatever ghetto-shit welfare insurance you have. in your case MediCal.
so you start getting slightly better service and stuff.
but yeah my rheumatologist is private and some high-falootin' shit so you wouldn't stand a chance.
i feel sorry for californians.

rob hasn't worked in a couple months, mostly due to pain.
so that's a win.

yeah it takes a long time. 'bout half a year.
you are not necessarily gonna even need a court date cause they may just decide in his favor right away. and that can be as soon as 6 months from now. prolly you just read that bc nearly everyone who applies gets rejected their first time, but you might not. i didn't.
but when they decide in your favor, you will get all the backpay starting from when you first applied.
in the meantime, i know here in NV, people who are applying for disabilty can get General Assistance from the county. plus food stamps and stuff. as long as you can prove you have a disablity case pending.
it's not much, and i don't know what california equivalent is, but you might wanna see if you qualify for any of that if you need it.
p.p.s. it's not so much you need a formal diagnosis of anything and that's gonna make you a shoo-in or anything. or vice versa. just make sure when you apply, you illustrate real good how gimped out he is.
