Big Myoma and her little pal Cyst

So I was seeing my gynaecologist today because of some mild abdominal pain I had for quite some while now (sorry, oh KR, for not consulting you first.."Pregnantz?!?!?"

) and now I know I'm the proud owner of a 51 mm (uhm...2 inches? Or something) big myoma in my uterus.

And because it was so lonely it invited a fellow cyst to develop on my left ovary.

I'll undergo surgery next wednesday, a harmless laparoscopy, I'm told.

I'm such a chicken...anyone had a laparoscopy and can share? Preferably shares of the "you won't feel a thing" and "duh, don't stress you silly twat, there are worse surgeries" kind.
It's supposed to be a really tiny and trivial affair and I'll get released the next day but.

You'll be fine. If they are putting you under for the procedure, you'll do well. Nowhere near as humiliating as that sonar where they hand you the rod with a condom on it to insert yourself while the tech goes to town moving it around inside you like some bad porn plot.

If your doctor does it like mine, they will make a tiny incision right above your pubic hair to the left or right (depending on where the cysts & myoma are)and it will take maybe 5 wee tiny stitches that self-dissolve to sew you up. You really can't see the scar at all. You will probably have mild cramping and bleeding afterwards.

I'm sure you'll come through like a champ. It's scary, but a very common procedure. Good luck!

If it's done properly you should actually have 2 scars... one for the chopping and one for the sucking. My mum had one the size of a grapefruit about a decade ago and she wasn't really in any pain.

If you're a sook, get some trammil.

You won't feel a thing. There are worse surgeries.

The cyst is a dermoid cyst and google provided me with the information that a dermoid cyst often contains developed hair, teeth etc.

A bit like the thing with the embryo twin, that gets absorbed in the womb by the other twin? Only it's your own embryonal tissue. I think.

Can I request to see it after the removal?

But I bet mine is more of the boring type, anyway.
