Has anyone out there heard of making their own soaps?? Well obviously I guess that's not a new practice lol but I just found a site that promotes organic soaps, and the ingredients are supposed to be better for your skin. My boyfriend has really soft skin, he says it's because he doesn't shower haha but in reality, all of that extra fluff companies put in soaps dry out your skin and decrease the softness. I am wondering if anyone has noticed a difference between something like a bath and body works type soap and an organic. Here is the site:

well, for starters, i would recommend your boyfriend begin washing himself.

boys have problems with soap (and all "beauty" products) in my opinion. they always complain about soap being drying and filmy, but then if you look at their soap, it's always some store brand $1.99 bar of crappy soap. and since boys are dumb at beauty, they dont understand you have to be selective about your products -- just because it says soap, doesn't mean it is soap, or even good soap.

i'm all for organic things, but i think good quality green bath and body products are available en masse, you shouldn't have to go all Fight Club, and start making human fat and lye soaps in your kitchen.

i would start shopping for hippie soap at whole foods or lush.

I never got as far as actually making soap, but I looked into it enough to know that there are ways to do it without fat and lye.
