[I don't know about y'all but I feel the cold like nobody's business so with the Winter now upon us I'm getting increasingly scared I'll freeze to death lol. I usually just try to avoid going outside but my flat is, like, equally cold and I'm trying to save on electricity bills by keeping the heating off. So, how do you keep warm in the Winter?
Here are my tips
- Drink hot drinks like tea as often as you can. It warms up the system and improves circulation so heat travels quickly around the body.
- Eat at least one hot meal a day. (Being vegan, I don't have many hot options but whatevs)
- Wear layers. It's a better insulator than wearing one big thick coat as heat is trapped between the layers. You don't have to look like a crazy bag lady. Jeans and close-fitting woolly layers are ideal.
- Exercise! Keep moving, generate body heat. ba-bum.
- Wear two pairs of socks. It's a fact that the warmer your feet are, the warmer the rest of your body is in turn. And ditch the pumps in favour of nice thick runners or boots.
Wear a hat too 'cause, like feet, your body temperature rises in accordance with how warm your head is.
- Wear gloves. I have a condition called Raynaud's Disease which just means that I have poor circulation so my hands and feet are always freezing, even in the Summer. The only solution is to wrap up well.
