| | Miscarriage About a month ago, my first pregnancy ended in a miscarriage. Obviously I feel grief over the loss, and have all sorts of weird hormonally emotional reactions to things still.
This was an accident, and we're not trying again for a couple of years. I am afraid I'll miscarry again.
Does anyone else have an experience with miscarriage? |

| | | as a guy witnessing my older sister go through a miscarriage has to be one of the most harrowing things i've ever witnessed. Being with her as she bled badly and having to rush to the hospital with her... seeing her cry that much... i cannot even bring myself to imagine the pain and anguish she must have been going through or the pain and anguish of any woman going through this...
I'm sorry to hear this Melanie... i hope you're ok

| | | I had one, but it was about 4-5 weeks into the pregnancy and I didn't realise I was pregnant in the first place.

| | | Yeah, it's really common. Even though I had a vague idea that it was pretty common, I was still amazed at how many people told me they also had one when I was going through mine.

| | | 50% of conceptions end in miscarriage, so its not a rare thing at all. Most happen so early people don't realise they were even pregnant, but some obviously happen later. Mostly its because of chromosomal abnormalities in the foetus. Your body realising something is wrong so decides to conserve resources and eject the foetus.
Some people do get repeated miscarriages due to autoimmune conditions, that mean their body overreacts and keeps thinking the foetus is a dangerous foreign substance. But most people who have a miscarriage will only have the one, so I wouldn't worry too much yet. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
