Goddamned Acne

oK...

I have had acne since I was 14, I am now 23 and at my wits end.

I want to know if anyone has any tips they would like to share that I haven't already tried?

I have had various things described doctors, stopped smoking, been to an expensive dermatologist, Im vegetarian, have increased fruit&veg in my diet (which is pretty good), lost weight, used tea tree oil, used various lotions & potions, cut out caffine, drunk enough water to drown in...nothing.

It usually improves with my hormoanal cycle but the last few months its not even had the few 'better' weeks I normally associate post period.

Any reccomendations welcome.

I take Apo-Minocycline, which works pretty well. It's kind of a pain in the ass because you have to take a pill every 12 hours and you can't eat dairy within an hour of you taking it (it makes it not work I guess).
Some more info:
Apo-Minocycline - Drug Factsheets - C-Health
And I wish you luck on your search.

Yeah, I am the same. It started when I was 12 though, and I am 23 now. Its never been bad enough to merit something like Roaccutane, but its always been a few spots day in day out. I am a vegetarian, I don't drink, I don't smoke, I eat relatively healthily, I have no caffiene in my diet etc.

I have tried all the face washes on the block, topical creams (from over the counter stuff like quinoderm, to antibiotic creams, to vitamin A gels on prescription). I have taken antibiotics for it (which improved it for about a month and that is it), and I have been on several "skin friendly" brands of the pill including Dianette/Diane 35 and STILL nothing. It really pisses me off- I'd love to wake up to smooth skin.

I tried them when I was about 15 and my mother was feeling generous. And they didn't work. My skin appears to be resistant to all efforts to clear it.
