My lips are always dry no matter how much vaseline I put on. I need to put on gloss or vaseline to make them look better. I dont really use lipstick. Drinking water may help but any other tips out there?

like you said most important is staying well hydrated.
the vaseline is petroleum based, creates a good surface barrier but will not adequately moisturize (penetrate). i would use a good moisturizer like cara-ve or eucerin. apply it as often as you can all around and on your lips. also, try exfoliating them often. i would apply a liberal amount of alpha hydroxy cream about an hour before you shower and then scrub them welll in the shower. to remove the dry dead skin. or you can use a scrub on them. lay off the vaseline and any thick sticky gloss till you get your lips straight.
